CHI OMEGA   MAKE A WISH

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members. Over the past biennium, Chi Omegas have organized and sponsored successful events through volunteer and fund-raising projects that have raised both financial support and public awareness of this important cause. Since the beginning of the alliance, Chi Omega has raised over $6.5 million and donated over 400,000 hours to the Foundation. Since 2001, Chi Omega Fraternity has raised enough money for Make-A-Wish to grant over 890 wishes to children with life-threatening medical condition.

Every spring Eta Kappa holds a spaghetti dinner to support Make-A-Wish. The sisters open their house all day to ticket buyers for all-you-can-eat spaghetti. Last year, we raised over $11,000 through this event. This year we are planning to work even harder and grant a wish of our very own. In the fall, Eta Kappa puts on various events to raise money and awareness for Make-A-Wish. We have done events such as car washes, and flag football tournaments. We even have established a Wish Week. An entire week devoted to raising money for Make-A-Wish and raising awareness about the organization.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Sisters never mind giving up time to help someone else out. They are constantly doing community service work to make life easier for someone else. Whether it be Greek Service Day, playing with puppies at a shelter, a blood drive or an Engineers Without Borderrs trip to Bolivia, sisters are always willing to get their hands a little dirty if it means helping someone else and spending time with one another.
